Captain's Report
Acting Captain's Report
It had been quite a while since our club last played this course, so most of us were eager to give it another try.
We found that it had changed for the better as it had developed considerably since our last game here in 2009. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition even though the bunkers were best to avoid.
The wide open fairways allowed many players to fully unwind without fear of getting into too much trouble, since trees planted on the course have still not grown large enough to cause concern. This however leaves the fairways without wind protection, so gusty winds did play havoc with ball flights. Fortunately for us the winds were not too severe on the day.
Although 35 players had booked, it was disappointing that only 33 fronted up to play.
Players are again reminded that it is their responsibility to notify the booking officer of changes to their availability on the day, otherwise they will be financially penalised for non attendance.
The day commenced as usual with early arrivals eager to get the show on the road.
M. Masendycz, M. Charenko, George Makohon and Marijka Kohut the last men/woman standing, teed off in the first group for the 4th round of match play, whilst all others played a stableford event.
The match play finalists vigorously battled out their match play using all tactics possible, whilst the rest of the field seriously tried to humiliate the course
Great stableford scores achieved on the day indicated that this course not only suits our members, but will obviously delight our handicapper.
Our presentation was concluded with the introduction of our new monthly trophy which is specifically aimed at assisting in Golf stress Relief, and expressing delight in not only hosting a visitor in Jordan Wilmott, but the reappearance of Matt Kwas and Danny Ward whom we hope to see more often.
So until our next monthly game at Albert Park
Good Health & Good Golfing
