The Association of Ukrainians in Victoria Golf Club (AUVGC) was officially formed on the 26th February 1988, after a  'Ukrainian Golf Day' at the Gisborne Golf Club situated on the outskirts of Melbourne, on the 30th January 1988.
The event was organised by a group of keen Ukrainian Golfers in coordination with the Association of Ukrainians of Victoria, who recognised the benefits of establishing such a club in the Ukrainian community.
