Captain's Report

This course at Rosebud must be one of the most picturesque courses that we play on our yearly calendar .  On the side of the hill overlooking port Phillip bay with the city buildings in the background to the north-west and point Nepean to the south-west and watching the ocean liners go past in the shipping channel.

On this day we were blessed with fine sunny weather though a little windy to say the least, but a fine test for any golfer. I personally found the course quite challenging and a little wet in places, The greens undulating but firm and on the fast side, although one of my playing partners Leon asked on every green was he putting uphill or downhill or was it going left or right?  I remember many years ago when I first played this course, Wally Kolody told me that the ball always runs to the sea and he is right. One of my other playing partners on the day Steve Kohut Jnr remembered this and played the course to perfection, as did so many others as reflected by the score cards that were handed in. This is a tight course on the tee offs as they do crisscross a number of times and one of our groups went back to play the 2nd hole twice -- just goes to show that they must have liked that particular hole or they just wanted to improve their score.

That is why this is the  greatest  social golf club that we can all be so proud of as we do like to laugh at each other's mishaps.

All in all, I believe that everyone had a good day and tenjoyed the annual presentations where we acknowledged our overall winners.

Till next time we meet at Werribee and our yearly AGM.
