Acting Captain's Report
Although our intended annual get together with the Ukrainian Golf Club of Geelong did not eventuate as planned, Melbourne members still eagerly travelled to Curlewis to again test their skills against this challenging and picturesque course.
Their journey was well rewarded, as they again found Curlewis to not only be in excellent condition, but the weather perfect for good play.
34 players arrived, eight to play their 3rd round of match play, whilst the other 26 to battle out a Stableford event.
The comradeship of the Geelong players although sadly missed, was soon forgotten as balls were hit off the 1st tee. A serious challenge had commenced as always, where honour and pride was at stake.
Whilst some players commenced the day carrying scars and injuries, all bar our president Slawko Kohut completed the course. Apparently Slawko retired hurt suffering from a Bakers Cyst. It was suggested by a fellow member that perhaps he should approach Baker’s Delight for rehabilitation. I wonder if he takes this free advice.
As always, most players stayed on for socialising and the presentation. Again a weekend well spent.
So until our next game at Sunshine, Good health and good golfing.
